The Questionables

The Questionables, the latest to come from Mr Tripleton is a provocative piece representing his alternative view of the world. Delightfully chaotic and enigmatic, the piece embodies the hope, love, souls, lessons and faith that is omnipresent—the essence of life. This is also exemplified through the anatomy of the body, combined with the life experiences and skills of humanity exhibited in the piece—all in perfect equilibrium. Mr Tripleton’s distinctive and imaginative style in The Questionables is further accentuated with the union of mathematical elements from the Pythagoras Theorem, cultural influences from the UK punk era and traces of anarchism.

Though inspired by eminent artists such as Andy Warhol, Basquiat, Picasso, Van Gogh, and George Condo, Mr Tripleton has infused his own aesthetic flair and storied life into the piece, making The Questionables unequivocally his own.

Each print of The Questionables is a refined and considered process consisting of 20-60 layers of screen prints by hand over a span of 7 days. A multitude of printing techniques are applied, including lithography (stone printing using oil based inks), woodcuts (where a design is carved into the surface of a wooden block, then inked and printed) and etching (where lines are engraved into a metal plate). Throughout this process, careful planning over the colour depiction, colour opaqueness, and facial features preserve the narrative behind Mr Tripleton’s inaugural collection of prints.

Each element of the print is processed with exceptional attention, starting with the US Dollar bank note, the human face, then the eyes and the mouth. A dash of dots and a stamp with Mr Tripleton’s name is added for the final finish, ready to be displayed to the discerning eye.
